CHALLENGE

Translate an ambitious platform spanning architecture, exhibitions, education, media, technology, and licensing into an investor story that made the opportunity and business model understandable.

SOLUTION

Organize strategy documents, working outlines, and executive input into a focused visual narrative that established the vision, clarified the revenue model, and built a persuasive case for investment.

IMPACT

Created a polished fundraising presentation while aligning executives, architects, and strategists around a shared story they could communicate clearly and confidently.

Bringing an Ambitious Vision to Life

100 Buildings was conceived as an immersive platform celebrating the world’s most influential modern architecture through exhibitions, film, education, digital experiences, and thought leadership. The initiative sought early-stage investment to fund a proof of concept before expanding into a global educational and cultural platform.

The project did not begin with a finished presentation. It began with an outline, strategic notes, and working documents describing the business opportunity, audience, revenue model, and investor proposition.

Clarifying a Complex Opportunity

The vision was ambitious, but communicating it to investors required more than presenting a collection of information.

The business model spanned immersive exhibitions, digital media, education, entertainment, licensing, and thought leadership. Investors needed to understand why the opportunity mattered, how the platform could generate revenue, and why this particular team was positioned to bring it to life.

The challenge was to transform a broad collection of ideas, strategic documents, and business concepts into a focused narrative that executives could confidently present to potential investors.

Building the Investor Story

I partnered closely with the project’s business strategist and executive team throughout development of the presentation.

Working from outlines, strategy documents, and ongoing conversations, I translated the business strategy into a visual narrative that introduced the opportunity one step at a time. My role extended beyond designing individual slides: I organized information, established hierarchy, clarified relationships, and shaped the pacing so each section naturally built upon the last.

The resulting narrative guided investors through:

• The purpose and cultural relevance of 100 Buildings
• Its audience and market opportunity
• The proposed immersive experience
• The supporting digital and media ecosystem
• Potential revenue streams
• The team’s expertise and credibility
• The proof-of-concept strategy
• The investment opportunity and use of funds

From a collection of ambitious ideas to one clear, investable story.

Strategy, architecture, technology, and revenue were brought together in a narrative executives could confidently present.

Designing Through Collaboration

The presentation developed through at least six major review rounds, followed by additional refinements as the team continued testing the business proposition and investor narrative.

I worked primarily with the project’s business strategist and the creative and marketing team representing its lead architect. Each round required more than updating content. New thinking often affected the sequence, visual hierarchy, diagrams, and relationships between slides, so the presentation evolved alongside the strategy itself.

While the leadership team owned the business vision and financial assumptions, I helped determine how those ideas would be structured and communicated. This iterative process transformed a broad collection of strategic material into a coherent, flexible presentation the team could continue updating and confidently present.

The Result

The project produced a polished, fully editable investor presentation that brought together a bold vision spanning architecture, education, entertainment, immersive technology, and cultural preservation.

The deck was subsequently shared with prospective investors, giving the team a clear and credible way to communicate the opportunity and support fundraising conversations. The development process also aligned the business strategist and creative team around a shared narrative while providing a flexible presentation they could continue updating as the strategy evolved.

Shortly afterward, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted plans for the initiative’s immersive, event-based proof of concept, and the project was paused.
