CHALLENGE

Communicate the financial, operational, and environmental value of commercial energy upgrades to enterprise decision-makers with different priorities and levels of technical knowledge.

SOLUTION

Develop a coordinated brand and communication system—including customized digital experiences, presentations, data visualization, and sales tools—that translated technical information into relevant business outcomes.

IMPACT

Expanded U.S. Energy’s marketing presence from a small-business website into a flexible communication platform supporting enterprise sales, customer education, performance reporting, and new product launches.

Growing Alongside the Business

When I began working with U.S. Energy, the company was already an established commercial LED retrofit provider, but its brand and marketing communications had not yet evolved to reflect the scale of the business it was becoming.

What began with website design developed into a long-term creative partnership. Over time, I helped shape how the company presented itself across nearly every customer touchpoint—from branding, sales presentations, and executive communications to digital experiences, data visualization, packaging, and marketing collateral.

As U.S. Energy pursued increasingly sophisticated enterprise opportunities with organizations including H-E-B, Ben E. Keith, Cortland, and others, its communication needs changed. The company no longer needed to simply explain lighting products; it needed to demonstrate measurable business value.

Making Technical Value Meaningful

Commercial lighting retrofits require complex conversations about energy consumption, maintenance costs, operational efficiency, sustainability, and long-term return on investment.

Each audience viewed the opportunity through a different lens:

  • Facility teams prioritized performance and operational savings

  • Executives focused on financial impact and return on investment

  • Corporate leaders considered sustainability commitments

  • Internal stakeholders needed credible performance data

The challenge was not simply to produce marketing materials. It was to help each audience quickly understand why the investment mattered to them.

Building a Connected Communication System

Rather than treating each assignment as an isolated deliverable, I helped develop a coordinated system that could support the company across channels and stages of the customer relationship.

The work included:

  • Brand refinement and visual identity

  • Executive and sales presentations

  • Enterprise sales collateral

  • Client-specific websites and landing pages

  • Infographics and data visualization

  • Environmental-impact communications

  • Website design and ongoing updates

  • Product packaging and communications

  • Marketing one-pagers and digital materials

  • Apparel and branded applications

  • Photography and video consultation

I collaborated directly with company leadership as opportunities emerged, helping ensure that every touchpoint communicated the same essential qualities: professional, trustworthy, technically credible, and easy to understand.

From a small-business website to an enterprise communication system.

A long-term creative partnership brought brand, sales, digital, and performance communications together as the business grew.

Tailoring the Enterprise Sales Story

A central part of the partnership involved developing customized digital experiences for enterprise opportunities.

Instead of presenting every prospective customer with the same generic information, I designed tailored landing pages that connected U.S. Energy’s technical capabilities to each organization’s operational, financial, and environmental priorities.

Working closely with the company’s president, I adapted the content and visual story for organizations such as H-E-B, Ben E. Keith, and Cortland. Photography, project data, infographics, interactive content, and customized messaging helped decision-makers understand both the immediate and long-term value of LED conversion.

These experiences functioned as more than promotional websites. They became focused sales tools designed around the questions and priorities of a specific organization.

Extending the Story Beyond the Sale

As projects were completed, the communication system expanded beyond acquisition and sales support.

Environmental-impact dashboards, performance graphics, and project-specific communications helped translate technical results into information clients could share with executives and other internal stakeholders.

The same visual storytelling used to explain the initial opportunity could now demonstrate completed work, operational improvements, and measurable environmental impact.

Supporting New Growth

The partnership continues to evolve with the business.

More recently, I have supported the introduction of solar- and wind-powered lighting solutions through packaging, product communications, and marketing materials developed for enterprise audiences.

Because of the depth of the relationship, I can contribute as an extension of the team—understanding the company’s history, anticipating communication needs, and creating new materials without having to rediscover the business with every assignment.

The Outcome

Over the course of the partnership, U.S. Energy’s marketing presence evolved from a small-business website into a coordinated communication system supporting enterprise sales, customer education, executive presentations, performance reporting, and new product launches.

The work demonstrates the value of a sustained creative relationship. By developing a deep understanding of the business, its leadership, and its customers, I have been able to create practical solutions that remain consistent while continuing to evolve with the organization.
